Two strategies, selected by what the channel composes. Local splice cuts a file ad to air over a downstream smart switch and reverts on end-of-content; SCTE-35 markers signal splice points into a clean feed for downstream SSAI to fill.

01 Local ad splice

A file-backed ad player cut to air on cue over the programme, with a Return-to-programme control — the break reverts automatically on end-of-content.

02 SCTE-35 markers

An ‘ad break now’ control injects a SCTE-35 cue into a clean mezzanine feed — passthrough-safe, no re-encode of the programme — with the current cue counting down.
